Coastal and Maritime Inquests - 8 October - Southampton

º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ's Inquest team invite you to attend a free half-day seminar focused on Coastal and Maritime Inquests.
Delegates will hear from a number of º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ's specialist inquests barristers, including º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ's Head of Inquests Sunyana Sharma who will be presenting "A Coroner's Perspective: Hints and Tips".
º£½ÇÆÆ½â°æ's Richard Wheeler will examine "Deaths Abroad and At Sea - Jurisdiction and Evidence".
Industry experts joining us on the day will include Dr Simon Boxall, Principal Teaching Fellow at the School of Ocean and Earth Science, University of Southampton. Dr Simon Boxall's talk will consider ‘’The role of the science expert witness in court and the unpredictability of the marine environment“.
We will welcome Vanessa Abbess, water safety campaigner and mother of Joe Abbess who tragically drowned at Bournemouth beach in May 2023 following an unexpected and ferocious rip current. Vanessa will be joined by Angela Geer, Chief Executive of the (CCSS)Â who will participate in a Q&A session with Sunyana Sharma.
The will talk about the great work they do in the community.
A networking reception with a selection of canapes and drinks will be held following the seminar.
