Celebrating 海角破解版 role models on International Men鈥檚 Day 2022

International Men鈥檚 Day, celebrated worldwide since 1999, focuses on , including honouring positive male role models in all walks of life, celebrating men鈥檚 contributions to family and community, as well as addressing the need to focus on men鈥檚 mental and physical wellbeing.

While there are far too many achievements to note, International Men鈥檚 Day 2022 (19 November) gives us the chance to celebrate just some of the accomplishments of the men at 海角破解版 over the last 12 months.

Appointments

A host of 3笔叠鈥檚 men have been appointed to the bench over the last year. In March, William HansenWilliam HansenCall: 1992听飞补蝉 authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in the Chancery Division alongside his public law, property law and commercial litigation practice.

In the last six months, Darren Walsh听补苍诲 Adam Feest KC聽have both been appointed as Circuit Judges, while Luke Ashby has been appointed as a District Judge on the Western Circuit.

3笔叠鈥檚 Richard WheelerRichard WheelerCall: 2004, personal injury, clinical negligence, public and coronial law barrister, has been appointed a member of the Attorney General鈥檚 London A Panel (Treasury Counsel), which took effect from September this year.

Craig LudlowCraig LudlowCall: 2002, Head of 3笔叠鈥檚 Employment and Discrimination group, was appointed to the editorial board of the Employment Lawyers Association鈥檚 (ELA) Briefing magazine.

Broadening Horizons

This year, some of our barristers broadened their horizons and expanded their practice beyond the UK. In March of this year, Philip BambigiottiPhilip BambagiottiCall: 2018, who already has an established practice both in the UK and Australia, was appointed to the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration. In October, Paul NewmanPaul NewmanCall: 1982 was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in addition to his practice in England and Wales.

Awards

Over the last year, 海角破解版 saw a host of nominations and accolades. Following the landmark judgement for his client Mrs Lesley Brazel in the Supreme Court (Harpur Trust v Brazel [2022] UKSC 21), 3BP鈥檚 specialist public law and employment barrister Mathew Gullick KCMathew Gullick KCCall: 2003Silk: 2021听飞补蝉 named 鈥�Lawyer of the Week鈥� by The Times聽newspaper in July of this year.

Specialist construction barrister Peter ColliePeter CollieCall: 1994 received the Distinguished Service Award from the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation and family law barrister Adeo FraserAdeo FraserCall: 2014听飞补蝉 shortlisted for 鈥淏arrister of the Year鈥�聽at the 2022 Birmingham Law Society鈥檚 Legal Awards.

Celebrating Our Staff

One pillar of International Men鈥檚 Day is service to the community, and 3笔叠鈥檚 staff certainly fits that bill. Stuart Pringle has been with 海角破解版 for 35 years and Lee Giles for 31 years. Robert Leonard has been with the set for 27 years, while Tox Cox will celebrate his 20th anniversary early next year. Within the last year or so seeing several big anniversaries amongst the clerking team. Russell Porter celebrated 30 years at 海角破解版, and David Snook has now been with the set for 25 years. Stephen Evers and Mark Heath celebrated their 20th year here, while Patrick Steptoe crossed the decade mark.

Fatherhood

The last 12 months also saw a number of steps into fatherhood from the men that call 海角破解版 their professional home. Tom WebbTom WebbCall: 2010 welcomed a little girl last November and Adeo FraserAdeo FraserCall: 2014鈥檚 son was born in August. Tom Cox and Seb Oram both welcomed their second sons in September and October respectively.

Wellbeing

Within the 海角破解版 community, our men and women have found ways to focus on wellbeing through an established programme of social groups. These include the national chambers 海角破解版 band, which has members from all six locations, as well as more centre-specific social groups.
