Earlier this year, we congratulated Darren Walsh for his appointment as a Circuit Judge and celebrated withÌýLuke Ashby his appointment as District Judge. The team has welcomedÌýSharan Sanghera as deputy head of the group. Our group will be expanding further next year and . We report on some of our team members' successes over the past few months, showcasing the breadth of the work we undertake. It's not been just all work and no play and we recall some of the charity events we have been involved in. Treasure Hunt’Ìýround the Inns of Court. Charlie and Sam and teamed up with the lovely Lisa Turan, CEO of CBIT, and others. They all had a fun evening whilst raising funds for CBIT. Our personal injury and clinical negligence teams have been busy getting out and about sharing their expertise and knowledgeOver the past few months, we've had the privilege of taking part in a number of seminars including the South of England group meeting where spoke on 'Vicarious liability in the workplace and considering in particular employer's liability for pranks, or harassment at work', and gave an update on costs and vulnerable individuals and the Court's approach to two developing topics. also spoke on psychological injury claims at Round Table. The invited to speak at one of their 'Lunch and Learn' events on an 'Introduction to drafting witness statements in PI/ CN proceedings', which was aimed atÌýjunior lawyers, trainees, apprentices, paralegals, legal assistants, secretaries and students. The team also had a fantastic evening attending the 40th Anniversary of gala dinner. A career at the Bar: promoting diversity through school presentationsÌýIn November , , and attended the Poole High School (Ellena’s old school) and gave a presentation about a career at the Bar. This was part of the initiative to increase the diversity at the Bar. Students from Year 11 to sixth formers asked lots of questions and it generated much enthusiasm seeing a real wig and gown.
